APPLICATION INFORMATION: You qualify to present at the symposium if your research focuses on any aspect of safe, healthy, just, and sustainable food systems. You also qualify to receive cash awards! ALL DISCIPLINES ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!
The Food Systems and Sustainability Symposium (F3S) was created by graduate students at the University of Manitoba. It is a 1-day event which includes 2 keynote speakers, student presenters, poster competitions, coffee breaks, lunch and an off-campus social following the closing ceremonies!
F3S is a multi-disciplinary approach towards food systems and sustainability both in Canada and internationally. It gives graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to present their research with a new perspective, promoting discussion and creative thinking, finding ways to relate their projects to food systems and sustainability. ALL STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE!
Presentation styles: 8 PechaKucha and 8 Traditional.
What is a PechaKucha presentation?
PechaKucha is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown in 20 seconds (6 minutes and 40 seconds total), keeping presentations short, concise, fast-paced, and fun. It was first introduced in Tokyo in 2003 and since then has grown in popularity around the world. Examples of PechaKucha presentations can be found here.
